For the large majority of families making a real-world decision between a $430,000 house in an Austin school zone and a $345,000 house in a Hutto school zone, the school quality gap is far smaller than the price gap.

    WHAT HUTTO IS NOT

    Hutto doesn't have the density of Austin or the walkability of Georgetown's square. It is a car-dependent suburb, like most of the Texas metro fringe. If you are expecting a walkable urban neighborhood, this isn't that. The city is growing fast, and fast growth has growing pains. Traffic on US-79 can be heavy during peak hours. Some infrastructure is playing catch-up with development. That is a known condition of living in any high-growth Texas suburb.
